Honda Motor has announced a major recall across the ASEAN region due to defective engine valve springs, as part of a global campaign involving close to 700,000 recalls. The models affected are the City, Jazz and Freed fitted with 1.5-litre engines and produced in 2009 and 2010.
Following its North American and Canadian premieres in Detroit and Montreal, respectively, the Honda Civic Si Concept made an appearance at the 2011 Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto, providing more details about the next generation. The latter will prove more efficient, more powerful in Si trim and available with ECO Assist.

Honda will recall 14,640 model years 2009 and 2010 Fit vehicles in Canada to replace the lost motion springs, components within the engine valvetrain. The lost motion springs, which are compressed by rocker arms in normal engine use, may bend or break over time resulting in abnormal engine noise and potentially causing engine damage or stalling. There have been no reported accidents, injuries or vehicle crashes related to this issue in Canada.
