Volkswagen Touareg Hybrid this fall, Jetta Hybrid in 2012

Stay connected Subscribe to our RSS feed
VW has just reaffirmed its plans to deploy electric vehicles in the United States and Canada. The company’s first hybrid is a version of the redesigned Touareg, which will arrive here later this year. It’s already on sale in Europe, and its hybrid powertrain features a supercharged 3.0-litre V6 and an 8-speed automatic for a total output of 380 horsepower. In August of 2012, a hybrid version of the Jetta will make its way on our market. It will be followed in 2013 by either the E-Up! or the Golf blue-e-motion, as both will be available in Europe by then. The Passat Hybrid will also arrive in 2013, although it hasn’t been confirmed for North America yet. Volkswagen’s mission is clear: they want to become the market leader in E-mobility by 2018. First Drive: 2011 Subaru WRX STI Sedan
2011 Subaru Impreza WRX STI Sedan - First Drive Review - Automobile Magazine

Instead of plunging sales, 2009 marked the third consecutive year of Subaru sales growth; giving it a record market share in the process. So far in 2010, Subaru has done even better. For 2011, Subaru hopes to keep the momentum going, with updates to its performance side of the brand -- the WRX and STI.
