The 2010 Paris motor show is upon us. Alternating with the Frankfurt motor show, the Paris event is the final European motor show of the year, serving as a showcase for new concept and production vehicles from worldwide carmakers. Local automakers Renault showed the DeZir and Zoe concepts as well as the production ready Twizy and the Latitude sedan, while Peugeot showed the HR1 concept and production 508. PSA's other brand, Citroen, took the wraps off the Lacoste concept and the new C4 and DS4.
The French firms' presence at their home show certainly didn't stop rival automakers from Germany vying for a piece of the action in the seven halls at the Porte de Versailles. The Volkswagen Group chose the show to unveil the Audi Quattro and e-tron Spyder concepts, the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento concept and the new Bentley Continental as well as a mildly reworked seventh generation Passat. Mercedes took the wraps off the all-new CLS, Smart displayed its vision for urban mobility in the form of the eScooter concept, BMW revealed the new X3 and Concept 6 Series Coupe, and GM Europe's Opel brand showed the GTC Paris concept, previewing the next Astra.
British brands Jaguar and Mini showed the C-X75 concept and the E Scooter concept – two vehicle typologies that couldn't be further apart – while sportscar company Lotus unveiled the Esprit, Elite, Elan and Elise concepts. Japanese firm Nissan showed the Townpod concept and Toyota displayed the production Verso S.
