With the Chinese market yet again posting massive year on year growth, Auto China 2010 demonstrated the importance of the Asian market to not only the multitude of domestic manufacturers but also global players like Mercedes-Benz, Ford, Chevrolet, BMW and Ferrari. Ford chose the show to surprise us with the Start concept, Mercedes unveiled its Shooting Brake concept – a precursor to the next generation CLS – and Chevrolet showcased its Volt MPV, while BMW's four-door Gran Coupe concept and Ferrari's gobsmacking performace derivative of the 599 also made their debuts at the Beijing show.
