Hyundai recently asked a bunch of kids aged 4-10 from the
Holmer Green First and Junior Schools in Buckinghamshire,
England, to put its i30 Tourer (Elantra GT) to the test
under "extreme" conditions, and see if it's really tough
enough to stand up to the challenges of everyday family
life.
While the more mature Hyundai employees analyzed the scene,
children let loose for 6 hours and simulated the typical car
punishment that parents dread but sometimes have to deal
with: jumping and bouncing up and down on seats (in muddy
shoes no less), prodding buttons and opening storage
compartments, repeatedly putting windows up and down,
spilling orange juice on the seats, squashing bananas into
fabrics, and turning the trunk into a sand box. The rearview
camera and Bluetooth system were not spared, either.

At the end of the day, a team washed and cleaned the Hyundai
i30 Tourer from the ground up, both inside and out, and the
car drove out of the playground fully intact and virtually
unscathed.
The Korean automaker performed similarly unusual testing at
Knowsley Safari Park last year, with 40 baboons acting all
crazy around, over and inside the car.
Various sources have posted the first official pictures of the all-new 2014 Mazda3 sedan, a few days after the hatchback made its debut in New York.
Embodying the KODO design language, the car definitely looks like a smaller Mazda6. Expect the same SKYACTIV technologies and i-ACTIVSENSE advanced safety features.
Stay tuned for more details about the 2014 Mazda3 sedan, which will go on sale in Canada this fall.

May 21, 2013, about 1271 miles. The Toyota Tundra doesn't compare to a Ford F-150, GMC Sierra 1500 or Ram 1500. This has proven to be one segment Toyota that simply can't crack, even though the Tundra has much of the qualities of American trucks. Like the Tundra of the past, it's still a between-size vehicle, only more like a commercial-grade heavy-duty grade truck than a light-duty personal pickup, It's a big, lumbering torquey V-8-powered tool, the kind of vehicle that holds no charms for me unless I need to move or haul something, and I didn't this week. To me, the low-rent interior makes more sense than spending fifty-thou ... yee-gads, it's $40,000? Where? How? No wonder Toyota dealers can't move these.
If you're going to be in the Boston area at the end of July and want to see some great classic cars, head on over to the Misselwood Estate in the North Shore town of Beverly, Mass.
I don't usually go in for follow-ups and sequels. Blues Brothers 2000? Sacriledge. The Star Wars prequels? I stopped after Episode One. The Datsuns' Outta Sight, Outta Mind? Nowhere as invigorating as the band's debut album. That said, when I was given a chance to relive a weekend spent out on the road, visiting baseball stadiums, salivating over freshly baked apple pies, and downing a hot dog (or several), I was willing to make an exception.
