Sales of passenger cars, SUVs and commercial vehicles in Australia were strong in July 2013, totalling 90,235, yet lower than expected.

Volvo said its July sales rose 14 percent, citing strong growth in China and Europe. The U.S., where sales grew by 3 percent, was the company's biggest single market.

New Zealand's new vehicle importers' association has dubbed last month "another exceptional month" after the strongest July registrations for passenger vehicles (6,769) since 1987 and the best July commercial tally (2,632) since 1984.

Mazda Motor joint ventures in China sold 11,678 cars there in July, down 18.5% year on year.

Honda Motor joint ventures sold 51,140 automobiles in China in July, down 1.7% year on year.

Turkish automotive sales rose 12.5% in the first seven months of the year to 453,339 units, in another sign of recovery after a difficult year in 2012, the Automotive Distributors' Association (ODD) said.
