The 2014 Jeep Patriot is as good as it's going to get for this platform. This poor model soldiered on for six years with miserable continuously variable transmissions and rough, unrefined engines.

The 2014 Jeep Patriot now includes standard front-seat-mounted side airbags. Jeep finally gives the Patriot a traditional six-speed automatic transmission for this year, as well. Unfortunately, the Freedom Drive II all-wheel-drive system isn't available with the new transmission, so buyers looking for the most capable 2014 Jeep Patriot for off-roading will be forced to live with the CVT we've panned for the past few years.Photo Gallery: 2014 Jeep Patriot
