US: Edmunds calls January light vehicles sales 1.036m, SAAR 15.6m

The relentless blast of winter weather in the US likely kept car shoppers away from dealerships in January, Edmunds.com said, forecasting 1,036,533 new cars and trucks will be sold this month for an estimated seasonally adjusted annual rate (SAAR) of 15.6m. The projected sales would be down 23.6% compared with December 2013, and 0.6% year on year.
