Porsche is seeking 200 million euros ($234 million) in damages from its luxury sibling brand, Audi, over costs related to manipulated 3.0-liter diesel engines used in its vehicles, a German newspaper reported.

German new-car sales fell 3.3 percent in September as uncertainty over the future of diesel-powered cars hit demand. Registrations of diesel models fell 21 percent to a market share of 36.3 percent, while gasoline cars jumped 8.
Western European car sales dropped 2.8 percent in September due to weakening German and UK demand, LMC Automotive said. Registrations fell to 1.36 million from 1.4 million a year earlier.
UK new-car registrations fell 9.3 percent in September, a key month of the year that normally accounts for up to 20 percent of annual demand, making it highly likely that sales this year will be down for the first time since 2011.
Germany's new-car sales will be stronger than expected this year, helped by incentives for older diesel models, the VDA auto industry lobby said.
Ford says it will take the Focus upmarket when it launches the new model in Europe next year.
