Japan's Nidec Corporation this week agreed to acquire Omron Corporation's automotive electronics business for JPY100bn (US$893m), according to a statement by the company.

Average CO2 emissions from new cars sold in Europe were 118.5 grams of CO2 per kilometre in 2017, or up 0.4% compared to 2016, according to data published by the European Environment Agency (EEA).
