According to the latest reports from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, speeding is likely responsible for the crash that killed Fast & Furious actor Paul Walker and a friend, Roger Rodas, on Saturday.
The red 2005 Porsche Carrera GT -- believed to have been driven by Rodas, although this has yet to be confirmed by authorities -- hit a lamp post and a tree before catching fire.
While the speed limit was 45 mph (72 km/h), the Sheriff's deputy Peter Gomez told ABC News that investigators are still trying to determine how fast the car was travelling and what caused it to go out of control, including whether the driver was distracted or something in the road prompted him to swerve.
Walker and Rodas had just left a special event in Valencia to raise funds for Reach Out Worldwide, a charity Walker founded in 2010 to aid victims of natural disasters.
