KOR EcoLogic, based in the U.S., recently unveiled a second hybrid prototype called Urbee 2, which will have its entire exterior and interior 3D printed. The name stands for ''Urban Electric,'' and the final version should be ready for launch in 2015.
A crowd-funding campaign has been initiated by the company to allow Urbee 2 to travel from New York to San Francisco (4,677 km) using only 38 litres of bio-fuel, which would represent a consumption of under 1.0L/100km.
Urbee 2 uses a small, gasoline-powered generator, electric motors, a regenerative braking system, and a supercapacitor.
