Lotus will not contest the 2014 24 Hours of Mans in June, having withdrawn its T129 LMP1 prototype.

The German squad decided to withdraw its yet unraced car just one month before the most prestigious (and most difficult) race of the season.

British motorsport magazine Autosport writes the AER-engined Lotus T129, which was absent from the opening two events in the FIA World Endurance Championship, has been pulled out of Le Mans because its homologation is not yet complete.

The Lotus T129 project is still ongoing, according to ACO sporting manager Vincent Beaumesnil.

"We are hopeful that the team will be back in the WEC later in the year," he said.

The Millennium Racing team run by the Delta-ADR team, which withdrew its two ORECA-Nissan LMP2s last month, has been invited back onto the entry list with a solo car to be driven by Oliver Turvey, John Martin and Fabien Giroix.
