From September 3 to 6, many car collectors will follow the auction at the Dallas Convention Center in Texas, where the auctioneer Mecum will attempt to sell a 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing, a highly sought-after car by collectors.
The car was imported to the United States on August 25, 1955 and originally had a blue dress and gray interior. The current owner, who bought it in 2001, had the Mercedes restored at Pollock Automotive Restoration in Pennsylvania. The car now has gray livery matched with a dark blue leather interior.
Several parts have been refurbished, including the engine, brakes and master cylinder, to name a few. According to the auctioneer, this rare Mercedes could find a buyer for an amount between 1.7 and 2 million US (between 1.85 and 2.18 million Canadian).
