Despite the Impreza's 2012 redesign, the WRX and WRX STI models are still based on the previous-generation of Subaru's compact sedan and 5-door hatchback.
For the 2013 model year, the Subaru Impreza WRX STI carries on unchanged. That means it's still equipped with a turbocharged and intercooled, 2.5L flat-four that pounds out 305 hp and 290 lb-ft of torque, managed by a 6-speed manual transmission and the company's Symmetrical all-wheel drivetrain.
Compared to the run-of-the-mill Impreza, the extroverted STI models boast widened fenders, aerodynamic add-ons and, on the 4-door, a giant rear wing that is said to increase high-speed stability.
Pricing is unchanged for 2013. On sale as of now, the WRX STI 4-door costs $39,890, while the 5-door goes for $40,790. The Sport-Tech package (touchscreen navigation, climate control, HID headlights, fog lamps, power sunroof, high-lustre 18” alloys) can be added for an extra $3,600.
