MTM, Motoren Technik Mayer, is a well-known German tuner of Audi. MTM's founder was one of the development engineers of the 5-cylinder Audi Quattro engine from the '80s.
The company was established in 1990, and since then has expanded its expertise to all of the brands in the VAG family, namely Seat, Skoda, VW, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, and Bentley.
The latest car to receive some MTM love is the superb Audi A6 Avant. But this is not a growling turbo V8 Audi, it's a diesel!
The A6 3.0 BiTDI is a powerful car to begin with, but once MTM is done with it, it becomes a true powerhouse. From 313 hp, the twin-turbo 3.0L diesel V6 climbs to 381 hp and torque jumps to 780 Nm or 575 lb-ft with MTM's help. These numbers will propel the car to 100 km/h in well under the 5.3-second mark for the stock engine.
Big brakes, which will only fit behind 20” wheels, are a recommended update for this car.
