Canadian race car driver Bruno Spengler captured the title of the DTM series at the end of a nail biting race that saw him keep his main rival at bay, Mercedes's Gary Paffet.
Spengler, who drives a BMW M3 DTM, scored four wins and finished the season with a total of 149 points, four points more than Paffett, a former DTM champion.
