Toyota will unveil its new FT-86 Open Concept at Geneva Motor Show, and gauge public reaction for the possible development of a cabriolet version of the GT86 sports coupe (sold as Scion FR-S in North America).
The FT-86 Open Concept uses the same 200-horsepower, 2.0L engine. It also retains the 2+2 seating configuration thanks to a multi-layered fabric roof with minimal impact on trunk space.
The show car in Geneva will be pure bright white with a navy blue top. Inside, the perforated white leather upholstery is layered over a navy blue backing, with golden yellow accent stitching and carpets.
Will it actually enter production? Toyota has yet to make any announcement, but various sources expect to see a GT86 convertible on the road in a not-so-distant future.
