Lombardi Honda Racing's Benjamin Distaulo won both rounds of the Canadian Touring Car Championship (CTCC) presented this weekend at the Gilles Villeneuve circuit, as part of the Canadian Grand Prix activities.
Distaulo, who had never won before in the CTCC, bested Scott Nicol at the finish of the first race Saturday, by just 1.1 second. Former Lombardi teammate Roger Ledoux completed the podium of the Super Touring class.
Jocelyn Hébert, Michel Sallenbach and 2012 champion Damon Sharpe formed the podium in the Touring class.
Karl Wittmer pipped local radio host Benoît Gagnon to the win in B-Spec.
Sunday, Distaulo romped away to a 14 seconds lead, comfortably winning over two-time F1600 champion Nathan Blok and Jérimy Daniel, who also learned the ropes in open-wheel racing.
Jocelyn Hébert and Karl Wittmer too raced to their second class win of the weekend.
