Believe it or not, a Toyota Camry in Singapore can cost nearly as much as a house in the United States. Why? In an effort to curb traffic congestion across the country, the local government has significantly increased the cost of a driver's licence... to $68,000!
As a result, Singaporeans will have to pay the equivalent of $141,000 for a Japanese sedan that carries a base MSRP of $22,055 in Uncle Sam's land - pretty darn close to the average price of an American property, which is $158,000.
If that doesn't relieve Singapore's road network, maybe nothing will...
