Corvette Racing's Tommy Milner was perfect in the dying minutes of the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) GT race at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, formerly known as Mosport, to deny Viper its first win since coming back to the series.
Jonathan Bomarito started on pole aboard the No. 93 SRT GTS-R co-driven by Canadian Kuno Wittmer, but as the race unfolded, it was Dominik Farnbacher, in the No. 91 he shared with Marc Goossens, who was fighting for victory with the No. 3 Corvette C6 ZR1 of Milner and Oliver Gavin.
Despite his best efforts and the occasional helping backmarker, Farnbacher never found a way past Milner who, by denying Viper its first win since coming back to the series last year, gave Corvette its second win of the season, and its first since the opening round at Sebring.
Wittmer and Bomarito completed the podium.
The overall win went to Lucas Luhr and Klaus Graf (Muscle Milk Pickett Racing), who completed 132 laps of the Bowmanville circuit, without any real competition.
Scott Tucker and Marino Franchitti (Level 5 Motorsports) finished some four laps down on them, second in the overall standings and first in the P2 category.
Ed Bennett and Colin Braun (CORE autosport) won the Prototype Challenge, and Cooper MacNeil and Spencer Pumpelly (Alex Job Racing) the GT Challenge.
