Audi is reportedly working on a 1.0L car that could achieve 282 mpg, equal to 0.83L/100km. Seriously.
The frugal four-seater is related to the Volkswagen L1 concept from 2009, which weighed a mere 380 kilograms and used a diesel-electric hybrid powertrain. In Audi's case, however, we're talking about a gasoline-electric hybrid.
The company says that the A1-inspired hypermiling hero offers all the creature comforts of typical cars, including air conditioning.
