The Thai government this week agreed to suspend the local excise tax on battery-powered electric vehicles (BEVs) for a period of three years to help encourage local sales, according to local reports.
Volkswagen Group is opening up its Modular Electric Toolkit (MEB) for use by other car manufacturers and 3rd-parties. The MEB is a 'platform' or engineering architecture which has been developed by VW Group specifically for electric vehicles.
New vehicle sales in Taiwan fell by 27.2% to 19,640 units in February from 26,965 sales a year earlier, according to local reports citing registration data compiled by Taiwan's Directorate of Highways.
