Mathieu Audette (Acura RSX) took top honours of the 2012 Castrol Canadian Touring Car Championship (CTCC) season-opening first race of the weekend, presented at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.
Audette crossed the finish line 6.433 seconds ahead of Sasha Anis (Hyundai Genesis). Dave Ciekiewicz (BMW 330i) completed the Super Touring podium. Marc-Antoine Camirand (BMW 330i), back from his trip to the Grand Prix de Pau, came home fourth, while Scott Nicol (Honda Civic Si) rounded out the top five.
Karl Thompson (MINI Cooper) won the Touring race in his first outing with Team Octane. Michel Sallenbach (MINI Cooper) made it 1-2 for the team. Damon Sharpe (Honda Civic Si) was third.
In the first ever Canadian B-Spec race, three Honda Fit made it to the podium. Nick Wittmer got the best of Greg Pootmans and Simon Dion-Viens.
