Three countries have apparently applied to stage races of the DTM series in the very near future.
French regional newspaper, Le Bien Public, wrote that the Dijon-Prenois road course may welcome the DTM cars starting next year, five years after the German series' last visit in the Bourgogne region.
The owners of the race track apparently came to an agreement with ITR, the organiser and promoter of the DTM, with an announcement to be made in August.
ITR chairman, Hans-Werner Aufrecht, also revealed that talks are underway to host a round of DTM in China. DTM did stage a non-championship event a few years ago in China, and then held the final round of the 2010 season on the streets of Shanghai.
The three car manufacturers currently involved in the DTM -- Mercedes-Benz, Audi, and BMW -- are apparently pushing hard for a race to be held in China in order to promote their road cars.
Finally, Spain could be back on the DTM schedule starting next year. There are three Spanish drivers in the DTM this year (Roberto Mehri, Daniel Juncadella, and Miguel Molina) and the country is willing to showcase their talent in front of a home crowd.
