The Italian Formula 3 championship, that has been a fixture since 1964, will not be held from 2013, the Italian federation announced.
The field got smaller year after year, with only ten cars at the start of this year's final rounds. The championship ran mainly Dallara cars built in 2008, but also few Mygale chassis.
The Italian federation will now focus on its Formula Abarth series, which runs Tatuus chassis powered by 1.4 litre Fiat engines.
