Hyundai's first ix35 Fuel Cell vehicles were recently delivered to the City of Copenhagen in Denmark during the opening ceremony of the country's inaugural hydrogen refuelling station. Fifteen of these zero-emission units will soon hit the streets.

As the world's first mass-produced, hydrogen-powered vehicle, the Hyundai ix35 Fuel Cell is equipped with a 100 kW (136 hp) electric motor, and can reach a top speed of 160 km/h. Two hydrogen storage tanks, located between the rear axle, with a total capacity of 5.64 kg, provide a combined range of up to 594 km. Filling those tanks to maximum capacity takes just a few minutes.

Hyundai plans to build 1,000 ix35 Fuel Cell vehicles by 2015 at its Ulsan factory in Korea.
