The legendary Corvette has just received the hybrid treatment. However, instead of Chevrolet, it's replacement parts specialist Quanta that did all the work.
Codenamed ''QHP770,'' this hybrid Corvette produces 773 horsepower and goes from 0-60 mph (96 km/h) in 3.3 seconds, according to Quanta.
Using a Corvette Z06 equipped with a 505-horsepower, 7.0L V8 engine, the company incorporated a pair of electric motors rated at 100 kW (134 horsepower) apiece, as well as an 11.3 kWh lithium-ion battery pack.
The Corvette QHP770 was unveiled last week at the 2013 SEMA Show to gauge public interest in a hybrid conversion kit and/or a production version.
