Sage Karam (Schmidt Motorsport) took his maiden Indy Lights victory on Saturday at the Milwaukee Mile, race for which he had also earned pole.
But Karam had to be on the look-out right from the start and he quickly lost the advantage to Zach Veach (Andretti). He was able to make it back to the top and create a gap, only to lose it when Peter Dempsey (Belardi) made contact with the wall with five laps remaining which brought out the yellows.
Carlos Munoz (Andretti) was then all over Karam during the restart but the Schmidt driver was able to hold his own and finally crossed the finish line one second ahead of his rival.
Championship leader Munoz held on for second ahead of teammate Veach, making the podium finishers the only cars left on the lead lap at the finish.
Results - 100 laps:
Pos Driver Team Time/Gap
