Andretti's Ryan Hunter-Reay continued to show good form by winning for the second year in a row the IZOD IndyCar race presented during Father's Day week-end at the Milwaukee Mile.
Since the beginning of the first testing sessions, Hunter-Reay and his Andretti teammates had been among the fastest drivers at the Mile.
During an early caution, several drivers decided to pit under yellows to go off-sequence, one of them being Takuma Sato (AJ Foyt Racing) who ended-up leading almost half of the race but, who was knocked out of contention later on when he pitted under green while the others were able to do so under caution.
Series' leader Helio Castroneves (Team Penske) was able to pit under the final yellow and get back on the track right behind Hunter-Reay but, still, unable to pose a threat to the race leader.
The Penske team-mates Castroneves and Will Power came close to being involved in an accident in the final laps when the Australian tried to pass the Brazilian.
Unfortunately for pole sitter Marco Andretti, his car was plagued with electrical problems and he was forced back into the pits finishing 74 laps down.
Power's third place represented the Australian's first podium finish of the season, with Andretti's EJ Viso and James Hinchcliffe rounding out the top five.
