The first two free practice sessions for the Silverado 250, the only Canadian round of the 2013 NASCAR Camping World truck series, were held Friday on the tough Ontario road course.
Mike Skeen, driver of the No. 6 Chevrolet Silverado, set the pace in both practice sessions. The Virginia native's fastest lap was a time of 1m21.449.
In practice session 1, Skeen emerged fastest with a time of 1m22.785 and the average speed of 106.919 m/h.
German Quiroga was second in the No. 77 Toyota while Max Papis was third in the No. 14 Chevrolet.
In the second practice session held in the afternoon, Skeen and Quiroga again were quickest of all. Ryan Blaney was third fastest in the No. 29 Ford.
As far as the locals are concerned, Alex Guenette was 20th in the No. 39 Chevrolet. Martin Roy was 25th in the No. 84 Chevrolet while Derek White, in the No. 81 Chevrolet was one spot behind in 26th position.
Twenty-nine trucks took part in the two practice sessions.
The action will continue on Saturday, August 31 with qualifying for the Canadian Touring Car Championship, NASCAR Canadian Tire Series and the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.
