As part of GM's efforts to rejuvenate the Buick brand, executives are reportedly considering a new logo according to the Detroit Free Press.
The famous tri-shield emblem features three side-by-side shields enclosed in a circle -- all in chrome.
GM North America President Mark Reuss hinted at a possible upgrade, with new colours and maybe less chrome for a more modern and understated look. Spokesmen for Buick declined to confirm or dispute his comments, however.
Redesigning a corporate logo is always a tricky thing, but with Buick successfully positioning itself as an attractive choice for younger, affluent consumers in recent years, such a change makes sense.
