Panasonic is in the final stages of talks to buy Austrian automotive headlight maker ZKW Group for up to $1 billion, accelerating its push into the automotive electronics market, the Nikkei business daily reported today.
BMW will test autonomous vehicles in Germany as it seeks to keep up with ride-hailing firms such as Uber. The automaker will test self-driving functions in Munich before expanding the project to other cities.
VW Group will challenge ride-hailing company Uber with a new mobility services brand called Moia that eventually will have its own electric passenger vehicle.
