Toyota and Denso have announced that they have made a formal decision and reached agreement toward concluding a contract to transfer core electronic component operations to Denso. Denso has announced it will invest approximately JPY180bn (US$1.6bn) over the three years - from FY2018 to late FY2020 - to support its 'aggressive development and production of electrified automotive products, systems and technologies'. Denso says it is focused on increasing its performance in the area of electrification.
First quarter 2019 vehicle sales in Brazil improved 11.4% compared to the same period last year, reaching 607,600 registered units versus 545,500 in 2018.
