The Volkswagen board has announced an electric focus for future models and investment reduced by €1bn a year
Automakers will build about 1.8 million cars in 2017 in the UK, less than the 1.95 million originally expected, due to more sluggish growth in Europe, an industry body said.
VW Group said it will reduce investment spending at the VW brand by $1.1 billion a year, switch to a different diesel emissions treatment technology and launch an all-electric Phaeton sedan as the flagship for a new focus on electrification.
