If Volkswagen is planning to reveal the eighth generation Golf at next week's Geneva motor show, it's keeping schtum. That should be great news for Renault, which can therefore garner much publicity for the new edition of the European region's second best selling vehicle. It's interesting that Clio number five copies VW's recipe for the first time in that it looks a lot like Clio #4.
There were more surprises at this year's Geneva motor show than has been the case with previous events. For brands such as Alfa Romeo and Fiat, that worked a treat with the Tonale and Centoventi concepts having a high level of media coverage. We also learned a great deal about these and other makes' future vehicle plans, highlights of which are noted below.
