Yves Matton, head of Citroën Racing, revealed that Robert Kubica has refused an offer to run the 2013 DTM championship.
"He refused a interesting proposal in DTM because he wants to compete in rally," said Matton to L'Equipe. "But he wants to do it the right way, he does not want to run without being able to be at the top. He has a great approach and a motivation that I find admirable."
The offer was probably made by BMW, which will run two more cars in the DTM championship next season. The german brand ran the Pole in Formula 1 for four seasons, Kubica having taken his only F1 victory in Canada Grand Prix in 2008 under BMW's colours.
Despite his retirement after an accident aboard a C4 WRC while he was leading rallye du Var this week end, Robert Kubica impressed the Citroen Racing team, which could support him next year in rally. Maybe in the new European Championship.
