Two former World Champions, Petter Solberg (Citroen DS3) and Jacques Villeneuve (Peugeot 208) had a thrilling battle at Franciacorta International Circuit, Round 10 of the World Rallycross Championship.
Villeneuve, the 1997 Formula 1 World Champion thrilled the local crowds with a sterling drive against 2003 WRC champion Petter Solberg (who would become the first FIA World Rallycross champion the following day) in a heat that saw the Canadian grab the lead into the first corner.
The wheel-to-wheel battle that followed between the two was extremely close, but fair.
