In order to reduce the amount of microparticles in the air, Yu Shaocai, a professor at the University of Zhejiang, China, came up with this solution: equip buildings in Beijing with a giant sprinkler system.

Apparently, by watering the various facades, air pollution within the city would decrease from 89.5 to 35 milligrams per cubic metre. Used water would be collected at ground level, after which it could serve a new purpose.
Yeah, that makes environmental sense...
