It's no secret that Dodge has lost its way over the past 20 years or so, but Chrysler is looking to change that. In a continuing effort to regain its sport credentials, Dodge is showing a number of refreshed R/T models at the 2011 Chicago auto show, including one model you may not have expected.

As soon as Dodge introduced the Charger's major makeover late last year, Chrysler's famous Street and Racing Technology (SRT) team had their hands on it for yet another transformation, this time to give it an even more pronounced muscle car persona. Not only is the four-door more powerful than the outgoing (and outdated) model, it's also faster, better to toss into corners, and less of a burden at the pump, preliminary Pentastar data suggests.

The changes aren't monumental, but it's the details that count. The Dodge Avenger is still a few years out from a complete redesign, but Mopar enthusiasts will surely embrace the changes made to the 2011 model.
