One brand sums up just how big a shake-up the European market has had in 2009: Kia. Trailing Honda by only 6,500 units after the first eight months, the Korean firm is clearly on a roll. American Honda announced that they will not participate in next season's AMA American Superbike championship. Honda cited, "the current AMA racing environment in the American Superbike class does not align with our company goals," as the reason for its withdrawal. This after being clearly dominated by Suzuki in the Superbike class over the last decade.

Honda recently awarded an all-new 2010 Honda Insight hybrid to Richard Hasenmyer of Houston, TX, as the winner of an environmentally-focused contest at the August 2009 Lollapalooza music festival.
