First Drive: 2011 Jaguar XKR175

Off by one.

In honor of Jaguar's 75th anniversary, the company has worked up a limited run of XKR coupes, dubbed XKR175. The "175" stands for 175-car, the total production -- except that Canada gets another 15, but maybe Canada doesn't count. What the 175 should stand for is the car's top speed. The standard XKR is electronically limited to 155 mph, but the XKR175 raises that speed limit all the way to...174 mph. Uh, come on, guys. You couldn't bump it up 1 more?

An exceptional event took place on August 15th as part of the 60th Pebble Beach Concours d'Élégance, in California. Not one but 12 of the 16 Jaguar XK-SS produced in 1957 were brought together for a unique display. Tata Motors Group global sales, - Tata, Tata Daewoo and Hispano Carrocera commercial vehicles, Tata passenger vehicles, brands including Fiat distributed in India, and Jaguar and Land Rover, rose 36% year on year to 90,646 units in July 2010, the company said on Monday. The exquisite Talbot-Lago was part of the John M. O'Quinn collection, like the 1948 Tucker Sedan that reach a record-breaking sale price of $1,127,500 US during RM's second evening auction, on Friday. The French coupé, the only long-wheelbase Lago Spéciale Teardrop Coupe in existence, was a 1948 24 Hours of Spa class winner. It found a new owner during a six-hour sale, which saw 84 motor cars cross the podium before a packed house.
