2009 Audi A3 2.0 TSFI quattro Premium Review

Stay connected Subscribe to our RSS feed
Premium five-door cars are popular in Europe, much less in America. But a hatchback's practicality is undeniable, and logically, we should see a lot more of this type of vehicle on our roads. Right now, there very few direct competitors to the Audi A3 in North America. BMW's 5-door 1-Series is Europe-only, Mercedes only has the less-dynamic B200 to rival it, and there are only three Japanese products that come close. Full story...

Review: 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-class Coupe
2010 Mercedes-Benz E-class Coupe - Mercedes Benz Luxury Coupe Review - Automobile Magazine
We sample Mercedes' new coupe and determine it's glamorous enough to proudly wear the E-class badge.

Back in the 1980s, Mercedes sold its midsize E-class in both four-door and two-door form, the latter with either a fixed steel roof or a convertible cloth top. It wasn't a particularly sporty car, but it-like all 124-chassis Mercedes E-classes-was built like a nuclear bunker. And priced accordingly.

Mercedes-Benz G-Class – Gelandeplowagen

Mercedes-Benz G-Class - Gelandeplowagen
Mercedes-Benz G-Class - Gelandeplowagen - Automobile Magazine
If you're going to spend twelve hours plowing snow, it may as well be from behind the wheel of a Gelandewagen.

The Mercedes-Benz G-class - otherwise known as the Gelandewagen - celebrates its thirtieth birthday this year. There are plenty of contemporary models that are riding streaks longer than that, but none of them have done so in quite the same manner as the G-wagen. You see, this isn't just a thirty-year-old nameplate; it's a thirty-year-old vehicle. A heavily updated one, to be sure, but still the same box Mercedes rolled out when Jimmy Carter was president and Journey hit number sixteen on the Billboard charts with "Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin'." Not to belabor the point, but this rig hit the streets the same year that the Gairy dictatorship in Grenada was overthrown by the New Jewel Movement. Gosh, does that make me feel old.
