Tesla CEO Elon Musk has confirmed reports by the San Francisco Chronicle that he met with Apple's head honcho in 2013, without detailing the nature of those talks. However, he also said that a purchase is very unlikely, not just with Apple but with any company.
“We need to stay super focused on creating a compelling mass-market electric car,” Musk told Bloomberg TV. “I'd be very concerned in any kind of acquisition scenario, whoever it is, that we would become distracted from that task, which has always been the driving goal of Tesla.”
What exactly could Tesla and Apple have talked about? A partnership? Developing the iCar? Who knows?
We'll keep you updated.
