Toyota's assembly plants in Ontario will see a future upgrade thanks to investments from the government of Canada along with the province of Ontario. The total investment plan, referred to as Project Green Light, is approximately $545 million and comes as Toyota's North American plants are working to return to normal production. During the 2008-'09 economic downturn, Toyota's Ontario plants suffered, and so the investment will help create jobs and boost production.
