Get your cheque books out: a 1936 Mercedes-Benz 540K Special Roadster will be auctioned off at Pebble Beach's Concours d'Elegance in California this week.
Yes, you read that correctly. One of the rarest Mercs in the world will be present at Pebble Beach and it will be for sale. Known as the Von Krieger Special Roadster, this Mercedes was built before WWII and was, apparently, Baroness Gisela von Krieger's favourite ride.
One of only 12 cars of this model left on the planet, the Mercedes-Benz 540K Special Roadster is estimated to sell for no less than $10 million (and will likely surpass the current leader of most expensive auction price, a '57 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa, at $16.4 million).
