Here is our weekly Top 10, this time featuring the youngest drivers to compete in a Formula 1 Grand Prix race. This Top 10 will change next year with the arrival of Max Verstappen.

The average age of F1 drivers was much higher in the '60s than it is today. So it's really stunning to see that a very talented Mexican driver started his first F1 race at the tender age of 19 in... 1961!

From September 3 to 6, many car collectors will follow the auction at the Dallas Convention Center in Texas, where the auctioneer Mecum will attempt to sell a 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing, a highly sought-after car by collectors.

The car was imported to the United States on August 25, 1955 and originally had a blue dress and gray interior. The current owner, who bought it in 2001, had the Mercedes restored at Pollock Automotive Restoration in Pennsylvania. The car now has gray livery matched with a dark blue leather interior.

Several parts have been refurbished, including the engine, brakes and master cylinder, to name a few. According to the auctioneer, this rare Mercedes could find a buyer for an amount between 1.7 and 2 million US (between 1.85 and 2.18 million Canadian).

The rare 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO that was expected to sell for more than CA$55 million at Bonhams' Quail Lodge Auction in Carmel, California, ended up finding a taker at just CA$41.5 million. It's still a new record for the most valuable car ever sold at an auction, though.

The previous record was set by a 1954 Mercedes-Benz W196 R F1 Racer that sold for $30 million at Bonhams' Goodwood Festival of Speed Auction last year.

The most expensive car of all, however, remains a 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO that was purchased for US$52 million by an unidentified buyer in a private transaction.

Bidders from around the world were in attendance in the audience and on the phones. The auction pavilion was filled to total capacity with overflow on the lawns watching the happenings live on the numerous television screens.

The combined total for the very special Maranello Rosso Collection of ten important Ferraris amounted to nearly CA$72 million.
