Rich Steinberg Interview: Electric Bimmer Man
Rich Steinberg Interview - BMW Group Electric Vehicles - Automobile Magazine
First with the Mini E and next with the BMW ActiveE, Rich Steinberg is the BMW Group's point man in the U.S. for electric vehicles.

When did you start leasing the Mini E?
The car debuted in November 2008, and we opened up applications - we got about 1800 for 450 slots. We started deliveries in May and June 2009.inline_mediumwraptextright0032825136/green/news/1005_rich_steinberg_interview1005_z_06+rich_steinberg+with_mini_e.jpgtrue

Opel's Future Product Portfolio - Corsa, Astra, Zafira - Automobile Magazine
Still a part of the GM family, but facing life with fewer partners.

Parent company General Motors tried to sell Opel, but then thought better of it and decided to keep its German subsidiary. But even though Opel's ownership situation as part of the GM family may be settled, the diminished scope of the GM empire means there's much about the brand's future that is still challenging.inline_mediumwraptextright0025374416/features/news/1004_opels_future_product_portfolioopel-ampera-front-three-quarters-view.jpgtrue

2010 Mini John Cooper Works Clubman
2010 Mini John Cooper Works Clubman - Mini JCW Sport Wagon Review - Automobile Magazine
The John Cooper Works cars might just be the most fun you can have while returning fuel economy of 33 mpg on the highway.

Despite having only $1600 worth of "options," this John Cooper Works Mini Clubman costs a whopping $33,300. Given a price like that, I really wonder what the fate of the Clubman will be once the new Mini Countryman, Mini's first crossover SUV, goes on sale. Because it seems that Mini buyers will split into two camps: those who want the purest, most basic Mini two-door, whether it's a hardtop or a convertible; and those who want a "bigger" Mini. And I wonder if the people who want the Mini styling and attitude but with a little more space will just skip over the Clubman and go straight to the Countryman?inline_mediumwraptextright0032933613/reviews/editors_notebook/1004_2010_mini_john_cooper_works_clubman1004_01+2010_mini_john_cooper_works_clubman+front_three_quarter_view.jpgtrue

2010 Lexus GX460 Premium - Lexus Luxury SUV Review - Automobile Magazine
The GX is a very good choice if you're looking for an extremely well-equipped, luxuriously appointed, and genuinely capable off-roader.

The GX is a very good choice if you're looking for an extremely well-equipped, luxuriously appointed, and genuinely capable off-roader. In other words, a Land Rover that won't ever break down. Its on-road manners are more than acceptable, with no scary body roll and minimal, if still present brake dive. There's likewise little to fault inside, even if it is possible at this point to get a Toyota 4Runner with almost as much leather. The small V-8 won't win any awards for efficiency or quietness, but it certainly muscles the GX's 5340-pounds around with authority.inline_mediumwraptextright27384512/reviews/editors_notebook/1003_2010_lexus_gx460_premium1003_z_03+2010_lexus_gX460_premium+side_view.jpgTrue

2010 Honda Odyssey Touring Review

Stay connected Subscribe to our RSS feed
At one time, minivans were aptly referred to as "minivans". I'm not sure that point of reference applies any longer, especially when Honda's Odyssey comes into view, or should I say blocks the view. This is as large as a minivan gets, and as such it carries a fair amount of girth. Full story...

We can almost see all the spinoffs now: Countryman Hillbillies Edition, Deep South Countryman, Countryman P (for Pilgrims...). OK, sorry, a little of topic there... We gather by the interest and buzz surrounding the 4-door and AWD Mini Countryman that it will be a hot seller for BMW's premium small car make. The only problem we can find is that it should have been launched 3 or 4 years ago. Full story...

2010 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT Review

Minivans are like pickups: they're ideal when you have a friend that owns one. Pickups, especially full-size ones, consume tonnes of fuel, are impossible to park in town and are frowned upon unless you're towing something big. In the minivan's case, well, nobody wants to be caught at the wheel of something as pedestrian and tied-down as one of these. That's why CUVs exist right? Full story...
